Associations Report

 

I. July Highlights:

19-21 Chaplain Keller attended the Annual Convention of the Central New York Firemens Association in Whitesboro. The Annual Memorial Service and the business meetings were held Hart’s Hill Inn. The Memorial Service includes the names of all deceased firefighters in the 20 counties served by CNYFA. It is not limited to only CNYFA members. All firefighter deaths should be reported annually to the secretary of CNYFA or sent through the County Association.  All committees and officers gave their reports, a Firefighter of the Year, A Junior Firefighter of the Year and a  Civilian of the year were honored during the Convention. Those attending also visited the 1888 Tavern and brewery as well as the CNYFA Hospitality Room. The Annual Banquet was also held at the Harts Hill Inn.

II. Future Meetings:

August 19-22: FASNY Convention in Rochester

September 20: Testimonial Clambake for Mike Ryan FASNY Trustee and past president of the Firemen’s Home (1998-2008) Mike is from our county.

NOTICE:  This is the time of year that many Associations start a new schedule of meetings. I will gladly report all and attend some IF I am given the schedule.

I also would like someone on the committee that goes to some meetings, especially Northern Central so I can get more information.
