Associations Committee Report

 

I. April Highlights:

20-23: Chaplain Keller attended the Annual meeting of the New York State Association of Fire Chaplains held at the Huntington Manor Fire Station on Long Island. The event included 6 hours of training in Comprehensive Acute Stress Management. It also included a visit to Kennedy International Airport with a demonstration in aircraft fire supression at the airport’s fire training ground with their newest apparatus, followed by a ride on one. The Memorial Service recognized over a dozen chaplains who had died in 2007. The busines meeting included the election of the first female Chief Fire Chaplain.

30: Baskin & Robbins held a 31 cent scoop night to honor firefighters and is donating $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

6&7: Annual Meeting & Convention of the NCNYVFA in Himrod.

The president of NCNYVFA died recently.

 

July

12: An Antique Fire Muster will take place in Sanborn, NY as part of the Niagara County Bicentennial.

17-20: Annual Meeting & Convention CNYFA in Whitesboro

 

September

20: Testimonial Clambake for Mike Ryan FASNY Trustee and past president of the Firemen’s Home (1998-2008) Mike is from our county.
