Shortly after 0900 this morning Belgium Cold Springs Fire was dispatched to a reported dryer fire on Haddon Hall Way. Moments after dispatch Onondaga County Fire Control upgraded the alarm to a structure fire assignment adding Liverpool Engine 3 (Captain Ambrose) to the assignment. The first arriving Belgium Chief reported heavy black smoke from the garage and rear of the structure which prompted a Signal 99 (working fire). Liverpool Engine 3 arrived second due and was immediately reassigned from RIT to interior attack with the Baldwinsville Ladder 2 crew. Crews made an aggressive interior attack to the second floor while enduring high heat, heavy fire, and low visibility. Crews were able to get an upper hand on the fire and bring it under control in about 30 minutes. Liverpool units operated on the scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to Liverpool where we quickly handed 2 other calls in our district for an unresponsive person and a motor vehicle accident with one car on fire.

Please keep the family and those effected in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time.

Units: Liverpool Engine 2, Car 2
