Earlier today, Liverpool was dispatched to a dryer fire inside an apartment building in the Brentwood Village Apartments. Car 2 (D/C Ormsby) arrived with smoke showing from the building and quickly upgraded the alarm bringing a full structure response. Car 4 (D/C Laakso) arrived and established command while C2 took interior operations and started evacuating occupants from their apartments. Engine 2 (Captain Ambrose) was first arriving, securing a water supply and stretching an attack line to the basement where the seat of the fire was located. Engine 1 (FF Heise) arrived, stretching a back up line to check for extension. The fire was quickly knocked down and confined to the laundry room in the basement. Additional crews arrived, securing utilites and completing searches in the fire building and the exposure building. Mutual aid crews assisted with establishing RIT, ventilation, overhaul, and protecting our district while we operated on scene. The alarm was scaled back within 30 minutes and all units were back in service within an hour.

A big thanks to our mutual aid departments for the assistance on scene and standing by, along with OCSO and AMR ambulance.
