On Saturday November 4th, 2017, while driving home, Deputy Chief Payne spotted smoke in the area of a large abandoned factory on Buckley Rd. Upon investigating further D/C Payne found the smoke to be coming from a large 3 story brick building. D/C Payne quickly notified Onondaga County Fire Control of his findings and to tone out Liverpool and our mutual aid for a fire inside the factory. Engine 1 (Lt. Warren) was first to arrive and immediately stretched a 3inch leader line into the building. Engine 2 (Lt. Cisne) arrived next and assumed second due engine company operations. Chief Loucks had command, and D/C Ormsby had interior operations. The fire was quickly contained to an old production side of the factory.
