Shortly after 0730 on Monday February 19th, 2018, Mattydale and surrounding departments were alerted for a reported house fire on Harrington Road. The first arriving Mattydale Chief reported heavy smoke and fire from a 2 1/2 story wood frame house and requested a Signal 99 be transmitted. Liverpool Engine 2 (D/C Ormsby) arrived quickly behind the Mattydale Quint as the second due engine company. Engine 2 split their crews with 1 deploying a line to protect the exposure and knockdown the bulk of fire and another crew deploying a 3 inch line with a blitz fire to the back of the house. Units operated on the scene for about 2 hours before picking up and returning to Liverpool. Car 3 (D/C Laakso) also responded and assisted with operations. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family who resided at this house and had all their belongings destroyed in the fire.
