Signal 99 - Electronics Parkway

On 2/5/03 at 04:19, Liverpool FD was dispatched for a possible structure fire on Electronics Pkwy. Chief Loucks arrived first and established command.  He reported heavy fire showing and immediately called a signal 99.  D/C Muldoon was assigned operations and D/C MacCollum the safety officer.  Engine 2(Lt. Schadt) was next onscene and established a water supply.   FF  Ormsby and FF Smith (from E-2) attempted an aggressive interior attack by stretching a line through  the front door.  However, the fire pushed them back out of the building.  With all residents of the house accounted for, command called for outside operations.
Engine 1(Capt. McGillis) established a secondary water supply and stretched an exposure line for another house close to the burning structure.  A second exterior line was also stretched to contain the flames.  Engine 3(Lt. Rouselle) and Truck 2(Capt. Fitchpatrick) also assisted in outside operations until the fire was under control.  At this point two lines were advanced into the structure to knock down the remainder of the blaze.  The fire was contained within an hour and extensive overhaul was started. Squads 2 and 3 as well as Rescue 3 were also on scene to assist. Mutual Aid companies also assisting were Moyers Corners E-32, Mattydale, and North Syracuse for the RIT team.
