Signal 80 - Onondaga Lake Parkway
On January 25 , 2003 at approximately
16:30, Liverpool FD was dispatched for a multiple vehicle accident on
Onondaga Lake Parkway. Chief Loucks arrived onscene and assumed operations
with D/C Payne right behind taking command. D/C MacCollum was assigned the
role of safety officer onscene. It was determined that one of the drivers
was trapped within his vehicle.
Engine 5 (Lt. Grande) arrived onscene shortly thereafter and
initiated patient care on the drivers of each vehicle. Rescue 1 (Lt.
Mullin) arrived onscene and immediately began extrication of the trapped
driver. Rescue 2 (Capt. Fitchpatrick) assisted in patient care upon
arrival. Extrication of the patient from the vehicle consisted of rolling
the roof back and removing the driver's side door. The patient was extricated
from the vehicle and turned over to Rural Metro for transport to the hospital.
