Shortly after 0500hrs on Thursday January 23rd, the Belgium Cold Springs Fire Dept, along with mutual aid companies, were alerted for a reported residential fire in the 7600 block of River Road in the Belgium Cold Springs Fire District.

Liverpool Engine 3 (Lt. J Santoro) with a crew of 4, handled the assignment. Engine 3 was originally assigned as the RIT. However, shortly after going enroute, were reassigned with the first due engine company responsibilities.

On their arrival, Engine 3 quickly secured a water supply and stretched a hand line into the structure. Engine 3 personnel located heavy fire in the rear of the structure from the kitchen area. Belgium Car 1 transmitted the Signal 99 (working fire), and Liverpool Car 1 (Chief Manley) assumed interior operations.

Due to their quick response, Engine 3 was able to make entry, and knock down the bulk of the fire down prior to the arrival of the second due engine. The fire was ultimately under control within 10 minutes of arrival.

Additional companies on scene were Belgium Cold Springs, Seneca River, Baldwinsville, and Moyers Corners.
