Signal 99 - Oakridge Terrace

This evening, at 6:37p, Liverpool Fire Department was alerted to a potential fire on Oakridge Terrace in Station 2's first due. Car 3 arrived to heavy smoke from the rear of the structure while Car 1 arrived and established command. Car 3 signaled the 99 and filled the box accordingly. Engine 2 (Captain Ambrose) arrived, established a water supply, and stretched a hand-line to the first floor with Car 2 (Ormsby). Moyers Corners Engine 21 arrived and pulled a second hand-line to the second floor of the structure with Car 4 (Laakso) while Liverpool Engine 1 (Lieutenant Buschbascher) grabbed a second hydrant and was assigned to ventilation. Mattydale Quint 3 arrived and completed a primary search on all floors while North Syracuse Engine 6 established a Rapid Intervention Team. Crews from Liverpool Fire Department, Moyers Corners Fire Department, Mattydale Fire Department, North Syracuse Fire Department & Solvay Fire Department arrived and worked to successfully knock down the fire within 20 minutes but remained on scene for approximately 2 hours due to extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit.
